Asia Pacific and Arab Regional Chairmen honored with Girl Guides Association of Malaysia’s Award

The WAGGGS Asia Pacific Regional Committee Chairman, Low Lih Jeng and Arab Regional Committee Chairman, Noura El Naamani received the “Pingat Bintang Kehormatan”, the highest award for non-Malaysian Guides for their contributions to the movement at the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia’s (GGAM) World Thinking Day Fundraising Hi-Tea on 26 February.
The awards were presented by HRH Raja Nur Mahani Raja Shahar Shah, Deputy President of Girl Guides Association of Malaysia. Over 500 members, supporters and donors attended the Hi-Tea which was held at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur.
Members of the Asia Pacific and Arab Regions were in Malaysia for the planning meeting of the Joint Asia Pacific-Arab Regional Training of Trainers Workshop scheduled to be held in Malaysia from 28 November to 3 December this year.
Also receiving the award were Michael Baden-Powell and Joan Baden-Powell, grandson and granddaughter-in-law of Lord Robert Baden-Powell & Lady Olave Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting and Girl Guiding movements. Michael and Joan were specially invited by GGAM as a highlight of their World Thinking Day celebration.
