The new Chairman of the World Board is from the Arab Region!

The World Board elections took place on Thursday 14 July at the 34th World Conference in Edinburgh. The new Board elected Nadine El Achy from Lebanon as its Chairman and the first ever chairman from the Arab Region.

Nadine was first elected to the World Board in Johannesburg in 2008. She is responsible for Leadership Development and training and has been involved in setting the framework for WAGGGS' Leadership Development Programme (WLDP) and providing facilitation at many events.

Nadine has travelled widely and worked in several multicultural settings, and brings to WAGGGS a wide experience in working with young women.

She has worked with several NGOs, and brings this experience, coupled with her business

development skills to the World Board.

Nadine has skills in creative thinking; leadership and nonformal education; design and marketing; entrepreneurship; event organizing; Information Technology (IT), coupled with a business background in advertising.
