Wednesday
On our last day we enjoyed three interesting sessions. One session was run on conflict resolution during which we discussed the sources of conflict and ways of resolving and avoiding them.
Then, we played a group game. We stood in a circle in which one person raises her two hands while the person on her right hand side raises the hand that’s near her; the person on her left hand side raises one hand and so on. The one who made a mistake goes out of the game until one girl remains and was the winner.
Alphonsine Kabagabo, regional director, Africa Region insisted that often conflict in the Association was due to poor management/governance and lack of democratic channels of communications. Later in the morning we had another session about negotiation skills and influencing people.
In the afternoon we had an interesting session on inner peace. Ms. Dina Ahmed Fakhry took us through a meditation session –a good way to relax after a week of hard work!
The seminar ended with an evaluation session and participants were asked to draw up an action plan. Both regional groups explained the difficulties that they faced during the conference and also how they communicated.
The closing session had speeches of thanks to the Egyptian Girl Guides, the participants and the planning team. Participants received their certificates and the forum ended with a friendship song. See you soon at another forum!
