Sixty-one young women from five Arab countries participated in thequestionnaire on needs of Young Women and one young women from Malta.

98 per cent of the participants agreed that the Movement has fulfilled part of their needs. They appreciate what the Movement is giving them in all fields of life but they want more contacts with their sisters around the world through international events, Youth forums, camps,….

The participants also expressed the need to involve modern technology in all Girl Guiding programmes to make the Movement more relevant for today’s world.

83 per cent of the participants think there must be a branch for young women in the movement.

35 per cent of them participated in decision making at national organization level. They demanded more involvement on decision making on national and world levels.

The Committee believes that the findings of this questionnaire will greatly help to meet needs and aspiration of young women in the Arab world when planning for the next Arab Region Operational Plan 2008 – 2011.
