42nd Arab Committee Meeting
2 February 2007- 6 February 2007
The 42nd Arab Committee Meeting was held in Egypt during the from 2 to 6 February 2007 with the attendance of: Ekbal Kamel, the Arab Region adviser, participated on the last day of the meeting. The Committee Members evaluated the previous operational plan for 2005-5008 and discussed the new one for the next triennum. They also discussed the preparations for the next Arab Regional Conference in May and decided on members who will be awarded during the Regional Conference. The Committee discussed priorities for the next Operational Plan 2009 – 2011 and decided on main objectives according to the results of the Performance indicators. There were also presentations on advocacy, world update and different reports from Committee members on work done since last committee meeting.
It was a very successful meeting where many issues related to the future development of Girl Guiding within the Arab Region were discussed.
The response to the questionnaire on needs of Young women was very positive. The results can be downloaded from the website.
