The 45th Arab committee Meeting was held in Damascus from 22 to 27 April 2009. The main issues discussed were the Operational Plan 2009-2011, designed according to the evaluation of the last Operational Plan 2005-2008. The Committee agreed on ways forward and divided responsibilities.

The committee also agreed to some amendments to the Arab Region Constitution and this will now be presented at the Regional Conference for final approval. The committee also outlined the focus of the Regional conference and preparation for this event is well under way.

The committee also discussed the role of the Arab Region in the Centenary celebrations. 




This meeting was followed by a two day visit to the Syrian Girl Scouts to look at their progress so far and start process for full membership in WAGGGS.
