The Arab Region participated in WAGGGS Facilitators Training
4 June 2008
We had a very good representation from the Arab Region, taking into account the geographical distribution, the nomination received by MOs and recommendations of the Committee Members during its last Committee Meeting.
Nadine El Achy, the world trainer from Lebanon was a member of the planning team.
The aim of the training was to introduce the WLDP Package based on 4 elements which are: Intercultural, Intergenerational, Value based and non Formal Education.
The five days event, introduced the role and responsibilities of facilitators at seminars and beyond. It looked at the different leadership theories, Learning Styles and Intelligences using a variety of innovative and active learning methods. Most importantly it gave participants the time to think and reflect on their own personal development and growth.

This marked the 1st training for leaders towards becoming a WAGGGS facilitator and the Criteria required by WAGGGS in order to qualify to become a WAGGGS facilitator will be sent to all MOs.
We hope that those young leaders who attended this training event will pursue this unique opportunity. Furthermore, the Arab Region will seek to give further opportunities to these young leaders to attend Regional and World events in order to give them the best opportunity.

The Region will also be looking at giving this opportunity to a wider range of young women throughout the region, with the aim to develop a strong and competent pool of young woman facilitators and trainers on the Arab as well as on the World level.
