The first Round table for Young Women of the Arab Region

25 August 2007- 31 August 2007

The first round table for young women of the Arab Region was held in Amman, Jordan, from 25 to 31 August 2007 at the Commodore Hotel.

The aim of the round table was to agree on the basis forming the guidelines for young women’s programme.


The objectives were:



  • To provide young women with leadership development opportunities

  • To provide opportunities for young women to express their needs and aspiration.

  • To understand the situation of young women in the Arab World

  • To provide skills, techniques and information on how to develop effective programme for young women.

  • To create networking opportunities for young women


Participants were members responsible for training and programme and two young women under the age of 35 from each Member Organization.


A questionnaire was distributed to all Member Organizations for the round table participants. Responses greatly helped the Planning Team in designing efficient programme for the round table meeting which in turn will help develop an efficient programme for young leaders in the Arab Region.


The Planning Team consisted of:

  • Mariam Alhadery, young leader (OMAN)

  • Aliaa Aljandal, young leader (Kuwait)

  • Asmaa Shahata Mohammad, young leader (Egypt)
