About us

In North Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf Region, Girl Guiding is bringing girls and young women fun and friendship – as well as opportunities for personal development, education and professional training.

The Arab Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts has 14 Member Organizations. There are 160,000 Girl Guides in the region today. The Arab Region also has 4 Countries Working Towards Membership (Iraq, Algeria, Morocco, Palestine).

A list of Member Organizations in the Arab Region can be viewed under the Member Organization section.

The goals of the Arab Region are to:

  • Promote the Movement among member countries of the region
  • Promote unity of purpose and common understanding based on the fundamental principles
  • Ensure coordination between Member Organizations
  • Provide education for peace and understanding
  • Promote the advancement of girls and young women

The Arab Region offers girls and young women opportunities to learn and develop as people and to participate fully in the welfare of their communities.

WAGGGS’ Member Organizations provide a safe environment in which our young members can develop. It offers activities to stimulate life skills learning and dynamic projects on such urgent issues as reproductive health.

Training of young leaders is a high priority. Regular seminars and workshops enable young participants to develop their leadership qualities and promote Girl Guiding in the region.
